What is TagandFile?

TagandFile is a service which lets you store your electronic files online. You can:

• Upload new files.
• Organise your files with tags and notes.
• Share files with other people.
• Access your files from any computer with an internet connection.

Why would I want to store my files online?

Uploading files to TagandFile has a number of benefits:

• The risk of losing your files is reduced since TagandFile uses rotating backups.
• TagandFile maintains a history of changes to the file, so you can go back to previous versions if you want to.
• You can add tags and notes to a file so that you can quickly find important documents.

How can I share files?

Sharing files with your friends, family and colleagues is as simple as entering their email address when uploading a file.

That person will receive an email with a unique link to your file. By sharing files through TagandFile, you have a single current version for each file which can't be accidentally deleted.

What is tagging?

Tagging is an easy way to organise information so that you can find what you want quickly. When you upload a file to TagandFile, you give a few keywords which sum up what that file is — spreadsheet, cashflow and MyCompany for example. Later, you can browse through your files via the tags, or use our search facility to quickly get to the files you're interested in.

Tagging is much more flexible than conventional directory structures, because we don't force you to follow a rigid hierarchy. Once you do it a few times, you'll never look back!

Won't other people see or overwrite my files?

You can only see the files you have uploaded, and those that other TagandFile users have explicitly shared with you.

You can give viewer-only access to other people, so that they can download the current version, but can't see the file's history or upload any new versions.

How can I access my files?

You can download copies of your files from TagandFile at any time, without installing any extra software.

We also plan to extend our service to better support mobile devices, meaning you'll even have access to your files while on the move.
